2026: Detecting water and ice in the cryosphere over different spatial scales

We will discuss the state-of-the-art in research about how scale problems arise when data from remote sensing (satellites) are compared with or analysed together with in-situ or geophysical data from the cryosphere such as glaciers, ice sheets, snow and permafrost. Especially when used in modelling, the uncertainties associated with the different estimates of water or ice contents can be quite substantial. Get ready for some wide-ranging discussions over many different cryospheric applications!
