This
seminar is designed to help the graduates in acquiring the necessary skills
that will enable them to critically read, appraise and review quantitative research
reports at an introductory level. Frequently, professional reading must be
squeezed into a small window of available time and improving the reading skills
will help sort through the reading required to maintain and expand their
knowledge base. It is expected that this seminar will help the participants to
undertake the critical analysis of quantitative research papers and incorporate
it into all their professional life. For doing so, this seminar provides the
opportunity to begin practising the role of efficient consumer of quantitative research
using controlled exercises. The sessions will be in the form of class
discussions and participatory meetings.
