This course will be an introduction to various
particle and light spectroscopy techniques that are commonly used to investigate the magnetic,
electronic and superconducting properties of solids. I will explain the basic concepts
of these techniques and discuss exemplary results on various solid state
materials that are of current interest, like high temperature superconductors,
low-dimensional and/or frustrated magnets, and other exotic quantum materials.
