The seminar is a discussion forum for important
fundamental and current topics of psychological research. Based on selected
readings, students prepare themselves for the courses. During the seminars,
students give a short input and present critical questions on the respective
topics, which are then discussed in the group. The seminar serves to refresh
basic knowledge and understanding, and to deepen the critical discussion of the
meaning, limitations and scope of certain methods, paradigms, routines and norms,
as well as problematic aspects of psychological research in recent decades
(replicability crisis). The topics thus range from Reliability to Research
Ethics and P-Hacking.
