Topics in Developmental Biology
Students who have followed "Molecular Genetic Analysis of Model Organism Development, SBL.00119” will explore more specific topics in developmental biology: How does a fertilized egg develops into a highly sophisticated multicellular organism? How do limbs develop in tetrapods? How are gametes formed and how is fertilization regulated? How is sex determined in various animal species? What are the medical implications of developmental biology? This course discusses selected chapters of the textbook "Developmental Biology" by S. Gilbert and a few related scientific papers.
