Eating Disorders: Applications of Research to Clinical Practice [AS 20]

LEARNING GOALS

1. Outline diagnostic criteria for eating disorders and recognize issues relating to differential diagnosis

2. Identify evidence-based treatment options for individuals with eating disorders

3. Understand factors that are implicated in the development and maintenance of eating disorder symptoms

 

This course will provide an overview of eating disorder diagnosis and treatment across the developmental spectrum (children/adolescents/adults). Themes will include current evidence-based treatment options for eating disorders, promising adjunctive treatment models, and research about factors involved in the development and maintenance of eating disorders. A variety of strategies will be used to support the educational objectives of the course, including virtual case discussion, videos, and didactic material.
