Migrants form the most vulnerable part of our society and often have a precarious legal status. Therefore, human rights play an important role for the protection of their rights. The course will analyze the application of human rights to a migrant’s life cycle – from departure in the country of origin to arrival and stay in a host country and a possible return. Existing case-law of the European Court of Human Rights and other international instances will be discussed.
