This course will start with a reminder of basic concepts (ecological niche, integrated community model) and the introduction of a more recent theory (Vellend’s theory of ecological communities). The following topics will then be discussed: communities in a changing environment; species interactions and coexistence; biodiversity ecosystem-functioning relationships; ecological networks; and metacommunities. This course is given biennially and alternates with Population and evolutionary dynamics.
