This course is open to master’s students from across the university with an upper-intermediate to advanced level of English (B2-C1) as well as to third-year bachelor students preparing for a master's programme taught in English.

This interactive, work-shop style course supports those for whom English is a medium of instruction and an indispensable tool in academic contexts and beyond. It develops tools and techniques for the most important language needs of master’s students with English as an additional language. Your course work and individual work will make your English clearer, more confident and competent, and more appropriate. The spring workshop focuses on developing word power, self-competence, and critiquing skills, together with a focus on communicating with audiences

As a master’s student, you are likely to encounter English more frequently and in more demanding contexts than when you were a bachelor’s student. This course focuses on the most important English speaking (and writing) needs of Master’s students with English as an additional language. It aims to make your English clearer, more compelling, and more appropriate to academic/scientific situations.

Typical activities and required tasks are explained at the beginning of the semester. Regular interaction with interesting and engaging reading and listening texts of an interdisciplinary nature will provide the ideal platform in which to develop your language skills.

Evaluation: Regular attendance and active participation is required to pass this course, as is the successful completion of four required tasks. You will also earn 3 ECTS.
