In this course,we introduce the most important principles and concepts of polymer chemistry, provide an overview of reactions to synthesize polymers (free radical, anionic, cationic, step, and ring opening polymerization and copolymerization), discuss physical properties of polymers in solution and the solid state, and give a first overview of the materials properties of polymers.
