The course SBL.30001 introduces the basic usage of the statistical programming language R. The focus will be on data structures (vectors, matrices and data frames), import / export of data, basic plotting, writing of functions and scripts for reproducible data analysis. The course course SBC.07109 introduces advanced topics in R programming, with a focus on S3 classes and R packages.

Both courses will be largely “hands-on”. The first course SBL.30001 does not require any prior knowledge on R, while for the course SBC.07109, basic knowledge of R as taught in SBL.30001 is required.
