Zweisprachiges Seminar (deutsch - englisch): Thinking about consciousness involves special concepts, so-called phenomenal concepts. The existence of consciousness on the basis of the physical is hard to explain or - according to some philosophers - even impossible to explain. This explanatory gap might be due to the nature of consciousness (view of so-called dualists) or to the nature of the concepts we use when we think about it (according to materialists). We will read and discuss contributions to that on-going debate.
