Ecological Field Course: 01.-11.07.24
The aim is to show students that at this point of their study career (typically at the beginning of a MSc thesis), they possess sufficient background knowledge to start making the step from being a student to becoming an independently and critically thinking researcher.
The course focuses on experimental research in ecology and evolution, and the main part will be the elaboration, completion, writing and presentation of a small experimental research project by each student individually. The different steps will be discussed with the whole group, and the teachers will be there for support. In addition, during several excursions, the students will discover important biodiversity hotspots in Switzerland, get familiarized with their key species, and gain knowledge about their conservation.
