It is increasingly important to create links between science and the society. One such strategy is through scientific outreach. But this is not the only way in which science can reach beyond its traditional borders. Another way is through its role in scientific investigations of art – be it to better conserve the artworks, to understand their cultural context using material science, or to learn more about the artist’s way of creating. The idea behind this course is to take a multifaceted approach to explore the link of science and art.
