Children's participation in crisis

Children's participation is a theme that is increasingly gaining ground in social research. From their consultation in family decisions, to administrative and/or legal decisions, to their free association to protest, children are increasingly being given space to express themselves. In this module we will analyse this participation of children in crisis situations such as: - the climate crisis; - war; - Covid 19; - participation in schools: bullying; - participation in crisis situations in the family: divorce, substance abuse, alcoholism, etc.; - participation of children in social protection services.

A key aspect of this turn towards children's participation in social science is reflected in the increasing presence of children's voices in research (either in retrospect, through the voices of current adults, or directly, through child research subjects) as well as children in research as co-researchers.

Students are also invited to participate to the lecture on the theme: participation of children left behind by migration in the family (open presentation)
