This course covers energy materials. It focuses on three topic areas, (1) Materials for photovoltaics. (2) Materials for Li-ion batteries, consisting of anode and cathode materials, electrolyte and separator. Solid state electrolytes and the use of nanomaterials in batteries is also discussed. (3) Materials for photocatalysis, discussing the fundamental principles, the catalysts used and the role of catalyst morphology.
