"Readings in Ecology & Evolution” is a Master level seminar series where students together with professors/group leaders and their research groups (PhD students, postdocs) discuss papers and books in the field of ecology and evolution.
The objective is to foster scientific knowledge in the field of ecology and evolution through discussion of recent or classical research findings and conceptual advances. The selected papers or books for discussion will be made available by the course instructors.
Each student must have read the focal paper/chapter and be ready to engage in actively discussing it during the corresponding session. In a given week, a designated student is responsible for launching and moderating the discussion session.
There will be no formal presentation of the paper, but an interactive discussion mostly driven by the moderator, the other students, the professors/group leaders and their team members.
This unit has to be taken for two semesters. Evaluation: Pass/Fail (based on moderation of one session and presence at the majority of the sessions).
