PS - Introduction to Literary Studies [SP 24]

This class is designed to teach first-year students the practical skills that they will need throughout their studies of English. The Introduction Proseminar should be taken in combination with the introductory survey lecture. In this class, you will be taught how to perform close-reading analysis and how to write an academic paper on literature. You will learn the terminological and practical skills that will allow you to become efficient academic readers and writers, and you will be introduced to the analysis of literary texts that contain key features of the genres of poetry, fiction, and drama.
