What does increasing globalisation mean for the legislative prerogative of states? What challenges do different actors face in a system of mulit-level governance? How are local communitites affected by changes in international law? How can often contentious relationshhips between domestic law and international law be dealt with? Do we have to develop new paradigms to understand the global-local relationship?

These and other questions will be dealt with in the upcoming Sino-Swiss Workshop, jointly organised by the China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing, and the Institute of Federalism, University of Fribourg.
