The first part of the course focuses on Humanitarian Supply Chain Management, and examines supply chains and logistics in disaster response and fragile environments. Students explore coordination among humanitarian organizations, governments, and private actors; last-mile distribution under uncertainty; pre-positioning and inventory strategies; procurement in emergency contexts; and the trade-offs between efficiency, responsiveness, equity and localization. The second part of the course focuses on Sustainable Supply Chain Management, where students analyze how environmental and social objectives can be integrated into supply chain strategy, sourcing, production, distribution, and end-of-life management. Cross-cutting themes such as resilience, governance, and risk management are examined across both domains.
