This is a challenging and interactive workshop-style course for all students across the university with an intermediate to upper-intermediate level of English (B1-B2). From emails to essays, this course is ideal for students who would like to develop their writing skills for academic purposes. Throughout the course we will explore and review key areas of grammar and vocabulary in context so that you will have a better idea about what language to use in different forms of written communication in academic contexts.
This course can also be taken with B1-B2 Introducing Academic English: Oral Communication in Academic Contexts.
Evaluation: Regular attendance and active participation is required to pass this course, as is the successful completion of all four formal written assignments: a formal email, an argumentative essay, a detailed description of a graph and a problem-solution essay. Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a final grade and also earn 3 ECTS.
