Indeed you can make changes in Production (though to a certain extent) by going into the "DRAFT" mode (i.e., parallel edition mode which does not impact data collection).
For that purpose, head to the 
and click on "Enter draft mode":
Now, make the desired changes and submit the changes for verification/approval:
At this point, we will evaluate the risks that the changes might have on your database and we will let you know of any potential risk.
